MY BIO

Debra with Fascial Counterstrain developer Brian Tuckey PT, OCS, JSCCI at a seminar in 2022

Debra Spross, MS, PT, OCS, Cert MDT, CAPS is a Physical Therapist with over 40 years of experience. These numerous initials represent advanced training and certifications as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a Certified McKenzie Practitioner, and as a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. She is a graduate of Ithaca College (BS in PT) and Long Island University (MS in Exercise Physiology) and an avid student and practitioner of Fascial Counterstrain.

As a homeowner and the daughter of an architect, Debra has always enjoyed being a “handywoman”. After her mother was able to age in place and peacefully pass in her own home, Debra decided to combine these interests with her years of experience in health care. She completed the Executive Certificate in Home Modifications Program (ECHMP) from the University of Southern California in addition to becoming a Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association of Home Builders. Debra has been a speaker in both community and corporate settings, and has worked in various out-patient clinics in in Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY.  She has been involved as a community volunteer with organizations such as the Connecticut Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bridgeport, and the Westport Country Playhouse.

Debra stays current in her field through continuing education to learn new techniques and approaches (such as Fascial Counterstrain and the Graston Technique), as well as skillfully applying “tried & true” therapeutic interventions. This is to help her clients achieve their goals for recovery from injury, illness, or surgery, for health and wellness, and now to achieve the goal of remaining at home while aging.
